If I had £100 to spend in.. Miss Selfridge

Another "If I had £100 to spend in.." featuring Miss Selfridge. I love it when shops have their Autumn/Winter collections in, they're so much better than the summer collections. Autumn is definitely my favourite season and Winter is a close second.
I'm still on the search for that perfect pair of wine or berry coloured jeans. I've found a few pairs but they've either been too expensive or haven't fitted me and I've been too lazy to pick up the next size up/down to try that on. Next time I go shopping somewhere like Southampton or Birmingham, I'm determined to get a pair and I will take a selection of sizes with me to the changing rooms. The ones I've picked here are a bit out of my price range, but I  think I'd be wearing them all the time and it would be a great investment for the coming months.
I've also been looking for a nice black sheer shirt and this boat neck one looks so versatile and I could easily plan so many outfits involving it. It would be fine with just a plain black bra underneath or a black vest top or black bandeau. It would look great with the berry jeans and with the patent lace ups that I have picked. They're a great alternative to brogues or loafers which everyone and their cat is wearing at the moment (and I'm one of those! Guilty!) and again, they're really versatile and would look great with a skirts/dresses or any colour jeans.
Just to finish off the outfit and because I still had a few quid left in the budget, I chose this wire headband. I think they're a great addition to any outfit and look great whether you have short hair or long hair, whether it's curly, straight or wavy and also looks  great if you're wearing it up or down.

What do you think of Miss Selfridge's A/W range?

If I had £100 to spend in.. H&M

H&M is one of my favourite shops which is lucky because there's four of them in Birmingham! I've never bought anything from their website but I've found so many things I'd love. The outfit I picked today would be great for the transition into autumn and reminds me of something that Rose would wear.

H&M's basics are brilliant and are well worth the money. Nobody's wardrobe should be without a basic stripy long sleeved tshirt and this one is perfect. It would look great with jeans, shorts or a skirt and as it's from H&M, you know it's going to last a long time.
These jeans are a bargain at £7.99 and again, everybody needs a pair of blue denim skinny jeans in their wardrobe this autumn. They'll look great tucked into boots and can be dressed both up or down.
Chunky knits are essential for when the weather starts to get chilly. I love this beige cardigan.. it's both warm and it looks good! What more could you ask for from a piece of clothing? At £29.99, it's great value for money as you know you'll wear it all through autumn, winter and even spring.
No autumn outfit is complete without a nice pair of lace up boots, these brown ones are perfect for tying the outfit together and giving it a more casual look. Worn with some nice thick socks, they'll see you through to the winter too. I think I've got a thing for lace up boots at the moment but can you really blame me?
To finish off the outfit, I've chosen this white tooth necklace and these two pink rings to add a bit of colour to the whole ensemble. I've always found H&M jewellery to be of good quality and I expect these two pieces to be no exception. Not only are they good quality but they're pretty cheap too!
This whole outfit came to only £85.94 which is amazing! I wouldn't mind paying for delivery when I'm getting so many items for so little.

Another good thing about the H&M website is the feature which allows you to 'try on' items. Here's what my picks all look like when they're put together:

If I had £100 to spend in.. Topshop

This week's outfit is very autumn inspired and is from Topshop. I hardly ever buy anything from Topshop. In fact, the few items I have from there are pieces of jewellery. Everything's a bit to pricey for me, however that doesn't stop me scouring the website weekly for inspiration. Autumn is my favourite season. I love the colours the leaves turn just before they fall off the trees, I love the excited feeling you get when you're going back to school/college/uni.. oh, and my birthday just so happens to be at the beginning of October!
At the top of my 'Autumn/Winter clothes lust list' is a chunky knit jumper. I love this white aran cable jumper, it will go with absolutely anything and looks so cosy and warm. I could see myself living in this once it starts to get colder. It's also a very classic piece of clothing.. it will never look outdated as it's so simple.
I adore these unusual embroidered shorts, the berry red colour is just right for autumn and look at that embroidery! They remind me of a traditional Bavarian costume. These would look great with a pair of black tights during the colder months and they are very versatile so would also be perfect in the summer with a a white or cream sheer blouse and a pair of sandals.
What is it with me and tan shoes? Maybe it's because the sole is hanging off my tan ankle boots and I'm looking to replace them.. or maybe I just have a bit of a tan shoe addiction! These suede lace ups are lovely and go with the shorts and jumper perfectly. They smarten the outfit up a bit and again, they will go with anything!
All of these items come to exactly £100. I won't be buying them, but I'll certainly be looking out for cheaper versions in stores such as Primark and New Look!

Are you looking forward to autumn? What will be in your autumn wardrobe?

If I had £100 to spend in.. New Look

This week, I've picked New Look to spend my imaginary £100 in. New Look is one of my favourite High Street shops. Not only are they always on trend, their clothes are always at very reasonable prices too.. plus they also offer 10% student discount which always rises to 20% around loan time (very sneaky!)

This look is very summery and would be no good with the current weather that we're having. I'm still hoping that the weather's going to pick up and maybe we'll have a sunny September. If that did happen, this is definitely the sort of outfit I'd want to wear. The pleated midi skirt can be found in a lot of shops at the moment but this one is a great price at only £24.99. It also comes in a range of different colours, the dark red was my favourite though. It will look great in the autumn too, I could see myself wearing it on a nice sunny day in October (preferably my birthday if you're reading this, Mother Nature) before the weather gets too cold.
The cut out vest I have chosen is actually meant to be tied at the bottom, but in this outfit I'd tuck it into the skirt. I love the cut out detail and the scalloped collar. I would wear this top with a lot of different outfits, it would also look great with a pair of high waisted denim shorts!
I really need to get myself some brown or tan moccasins, I've featured them in so many wishlists so far. My beloved black ones wore out and I've yet to replace them. The ones I've chosen here are so cheap at only £15 and they're real leather! You can't turn them down at that price, can you? They'd also go with a lot of outfits, especially jeans when it gets a bit colder.
The brogue bag is a lovely colour and is in the same style as a pair of brogues, which I love. Again, this would go with a whole load of different outfits. The colour would work with anything and it looks smart but also casual at the same time. You could even use it on a night out!
The grand total of this lovely outfit is a bargainous £58.98! This is why I love New Look! There would be enough left over to get another outfit. Now I just need someone to give me some money or gift vouchers, I wish my birthday would hurry up!

What would you pick if you had £100 to spend in New Look?

If I had £100 to spend in.. Miss Selfridge

I was overwhelmed at the response I got from this feature last week - I really wasn't expecting it to be such a hit! So, here it is again this week, featuring Miss Selfridge.

Recently, I've started loving my jeans again and I've been searching for the perfect black pair. These black super skinnies seem like they could be it and at only £36 they're a bit of a bargain too seeing as they're so versatile and can be worn with almost anything.
As soon as I saw this animal print shirt it reminded me of the lovely Claire  after she wore a sheer shirt and ribbon bow combo for the Brum Blogger Meet. It was definitely love at first sight with this shirt, I love leopard print but sometimes it can be a bit too in your face. This tan colour with the small print is lovely and subtle. I would definitely get a lot of wear out of this.
A lot of people think that black and brown together is a big no no, obviously I'm not one of those people. I think that these tan loafers are lovely and will go with everything. I really need a pair of tan shoes as the soles on my boots are literally hanging off! I think they go really well with the shirt and make the whole outfit look really smart.
I don't think I really need to explain why I picked the ring really, do I? Look at it, it's perfect and we could really do with a bit of peace in England at the moment, couldn't we?
I picked the bangles as the brown one goes nicely with the whole outfit and the teal one would add a nice pop of colour to an otherwise black and brown outfit. It's always nice to wear a couple of bracelets or bangles when you're wearing a sleeveless shirt.
The whole outfit comes to a grand total of £96.50 so that leaves £3.50 to spend on some fruit jellies and a Starbucks (my weaknesses at the moment!)

If I had £100 to spend in.. Dorothy Perkins

Here's a new feature for my little blog. Basically, each week I will pick a shop (online or on the high street) and will find an outfit for £100 or less. At the moment and any extra pennies I get are going straight into my Paris Fund but if someone presented me with £100 as an early birthday present and told me I HAD to spend it at Dorothy Perkins or else, this is what I would buy..

This outfit came to a bargainous £95.50 which leaves just enough change for a Starbucks after a hard day's shopping.
I chose the denim jacket because I have been looking for one for ages and this one is perfect! It's just the right shade of blue and has long sleeves. I wasn't too keen on all the cropped ones I've been seeing around.
The cat print dress caught my eye because, well.. it has cats on it of course! If you know me, you'll know I'm a bit of a crazy cat lady so if something has cats on it, I NEED it! It's also a lovely summery orange and would also look great in the winter with a pair of black tights and a black cardi over the top.
The cream brogues are a lovely summery shoe and are a welcome change from the usual black and brown brogues. These will go with almost anything, from summer dresses to skinny jeans.
The outfit didn't need a necklace as the neckline of the dress is quite high and any bracelets would be hidden by the sleeves of the jacket. I picked this wire ring  as I don't believe that any outfit is complete without a ring!

What do you think of the outfit I've chosen?
If you had £100 to spend at Dorothy Perkins, what would you pick?

PS. This is my 100th post! I never thought I'd keep this blog up for a month, let alone still be posting 8 months later and have 100 posts and 188 followers!
