Event: The launch of Birmingham Selfridges' new beauty hall

Last week I went along to one of Birmingham Selfridges infamous parties. This one was to celebrate the launch of the new Beauty Hall which is in fact the biggest outside of London, which is very exciting for anyone in the area who's as obsessed with beauty and make up as I am.

When we arrived at The Balcony, we were given a glass of champagne which was topped up regularly by the (very attractive) waiters and we had a chance to mingle for half an hour while everyone arrived. When the store closed at 8, we were then taken down to the Beauty Hall to watch a performance by the special guest who turned out to be Kelis. She was amazing although I was a bit miffed that she didn't perfom 'Milkshake', not gonna lie. We then had a chance to wander around looking at all of the old and new counters and could try out different treatments or get makeovers. Myself and my friend Amy had our makeup done at Urban Decay. Amy went for the Naked 2 palette and I chose the Electric palette. I ended up with bright pink lids and teal under my lash line which is not something I would have ever done on myself but would be great for a festival look. I'm really tempted to get the Electric palette now or even a cheaper alternative and have a play around with the different colours.

It was a great night and I'm really looking forward to payday so that I can go back and treat myself to a couple of things that I saw on the night.
