My eyebrow routine

MAC 266 brush £16 - available here
MAC Espresso eyeshadow £12 - available here

I've always had thin eyebrows which don't have much shape to them. Luckily, I didn't go through that overplucking phase when I was younger that everyone else seemed to go through. I used to ignore my eyebrows completely, until about three years ago when I really started getting in to make up.

As my eyebrows are very thin, luckily they don't need a lot of maintenance. I get them eyebrows threaded every six to eight weeks, just to tidy them up a bit at one of the stands in my local Superdrug. I know that not every Superdrug offers this service, but if you can get to one of the stands then I really recommend it. I used to get mine done in the Winchester store but now I'm back in the Midlands, I go to the Bullring store in Birmingham. It only costs £5 (£4.50 if you have an NUS card) and the procedure is very quick. It does hurt, but it's not painful enough to put me off. In between threading, I'll use a pair of tweezers just to get rid of any stray hairs.

When I decided that I needed to fill my eyebrows in, I started off with Benefit's Brow Zings and then switched over to the HD Brows Pallette when I got it in an early Glossybox. However, recently I decided I wanted something a bit smaller, something that would easily fit in my make up bag. I asked about on Twitter and a lot of people recommended a MAC brush and eyeshadow. I did my research and after a swatch in store, I decided on the 266 brush and Espresso eyeshadow.

The 266 is a great brush and is perfect for creating precise lines as it's quite small and the bristles are very firm. It doesn't pick up too much product and I always try to make sure to never go over my natural eyebrow shape, which this brush ensures. The eyeshadow is a few shades darker than my natural eyebrows but isn't too dark that it looks unnatural. Once applied, it lasts all day and doesn't budge until I remove it myself.

I'm really impressed with both of these products, I've used the 266 as an eyeliner brush when I've been without my usual one and I've also used the Espresso for it's actual purpose, as an eyeshadow as well.

What do you use to fill in your brows?
