Style Icon: Shirley Manson

If you don't know who Shirley Manson is, she's the singer of the band Garbage.. and if you don't know who Garbage are, I definitely recommend you have a look at their youtube or get on Spotify and listen to their albums, they're one of my favourite bands!

Shirley's style is one that I have always admired. When Garbage first hit the scene in the 90s, Shirley could always be spotted in grungy fishnets and Dr Martens with her trademark black eyeliner and red lipstick. Nowadays, in her 40s, her look is more polished but still has elements of that 90s grunge. I would absolutely kill to look like this woman. Thanks to her, I spent the whole of the summer of 2006 in a shirt dress and she also inspired me to start dying my hair red!

No matter what she wears, she always manages to look fantastic. My personal favourite is the black and white striped dress from the 2005 'Bleed Like Me' era but I'm also loving her new look for the 'Not Your Kind of People' tour. I'm finally going to see Garbage this Sunday and I can't wait to see what she wears.

What do you think of Shirley's style?
