Superdrug Chocolate Orange Self-Heating Mask review

Available from Superdrug - 99p

I'm a big fan of face masks, particularly the Montagne Jeunesse range so when I saw that Superdrug had their own version of my favourite mask, I just had to try it out.

The mask looks and smells exactly like a melted Terry's Chocolate Orange (but doesn't taste like one, I accidentally tried it!), just like the Montagne Jeunesse version. When I applied it to my damp face, it soon warmed up and felt lovely for the fifteen minutes I left it on. Unlike a clay mask, these aren't designed to dry, however I did find that the Superdrug mask is very runny and ended up dripping onto my lips and it kept dripping off the end of my nose - it was a good job I was sitting in the bath otherwise it would have been very messy.

On the packet, this masks claims to be purifying and hydrating. I didn't really notice a difference with my pores or blemishes but what I did notice was that this mask left my skin feeling tight and not hydrated in the slightest. I was very disappointed as the Montagne Jeunesse one is amazing and my face always feels so moisturised after using it.

Overall, I don't think I will be purchasing this mask again. I might try out another one in the range but I will stick with the Montagne Jeunesse ones in the future, which you can pick up from Bodycare for 89p.

  1. I made the terrible mistake of putting this on then chilling in front of the tv with it on. Cue, dripping mess of chocolate everywhere! I agree with you, I didn't find that it hydrated me at all. Quite the opposite actually!

  2. Ive tried quite a few of the new Superdrug masks cuz they had such pretty packaging. Sadly that was the only nice thing about them, they leaked (my kitten ran thru it so he got pink stained paws and I couldnt get it off haha) and they made my skin only worse. EW. x
