Give It Up

Smoking - it's not big and it's certainly not clever but I bet we've all tried it at some point in our lives, haven't we? I'm not going to deny that curiosity got the better of me when I was younger and I gave it a go. Luckily, I soon realised that it wasn't for me and that there's far more things I can waste my money on, like lipstick and bubble tea. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case for everyone.

I have a lot of friends and family members who are addicted to smoking and are finding it hard to give up the habit. There's always lots of adverts around to encourage you to stop smoking but from experience, I've found that my friends have found it easier to quit when they've not gone 'cold turkey' or started chewing gum or sticking silly patches on their arms; they've simply switched to e-cigarettes to slowly ease them off the nicotine.

E-cigarettes are great because it's just like smoking but without most of the nasty chemicals so you don't really have to give up the habit. A lot of people find that they put on weight when they quit smoking because they end up eating so they have something to do with their hands and e-cigarettes from Vype can help to stop this.

Have you ever given up smoking?

This post was written in collaboration with Vype.

  1. Er actually e-cigarettes are still filled with the nasty chemicals. An FDA press release announced they still found toxic carcinogens and chemicals like diethylene glycol - something you would find in antifreeze and is toxic to humans. "It's like smoking" because it is still smoking - nicotine is still going straight into your lungs, it's still causing harm to your body, they are just as addictive. All e-cigs are doing is replacing something that's perhaps slightly, and only slightly less harmful but just as addictive.

  2. I have never given up smoking because luckily I have not ever felt the need to start! I know people addicted too and it's such a shame. I think it's a bigger shame that some people feel the need to start it just to 'fit in' or because they think it looks good, sometimes you have to be strong and say no. Loved your blog about, think it's a great topic to address!

  3. e-cigs really aren't what they crack up to be, it's much more effective to buy a vaporiser!
