Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Shade 115 Ivory - Swatched and blended

"The secret of Fit Me Foundation? Some waxes and fillers can mask your skin colour, Fit Me Foundation has none. Its transluscent gel based formula merges seamlessly with your skin."

I'd heard a lot online about the new Fit Me range from Maybelline so I was eager to try it as soon as it made its way over to the UK. Maybelline isn't usually a brand I'd go to when looking for a foundation, as a teenager I swore by the Dream Matte Mousse which used to dry my skin out and leave me looking orange and scaly - not a good look. However, since I've been loving Maybelline's BB cream, I had high hopes for the Fit Me foundation.

Maybelline were giving away ten day samples of this foundation on their website and they also have a handy shade guide to help you to pick the right shade for you. I ended up choosing shade 115, which is the lightest one they do. Around two weeks later, the foundation arrived through my door. I was impressed to see that it's quite a big sample at 10ml and will probably last me more than ten days!

The foundation is quite watery, but gives a decent medium coverage which is easily buildable. It's really blendable so there's no need to worry about tell tale lines around your jaw. I think the shade 115 is a perfect match for me. I love the finish it gives - not matte but also not too dewy. It just gives me a decent enough glow. I haven't been setting it with a powder and on it's own, the foundation lasts a good 6 or 7 hours without me feeling like I need to touch it up.

At £7.99, I think this foundation is excellent value for money and I'll definitely be picking up a bottle once my sample runs out. It makes a great alternative to Double Wear for when my skin is having a good day.

  1. I've ordered a sample in this shade! It's a great idea, I'm so much more likely to buy a full size product if I've been able to really test the product out. I'm excited for mine to arrive! xx

  2. Ooh I ordered my foundation too, hasn't arrived yet though! I think the shade guide is a brilliant idea for a drug-store product as sometimes it's so difficult to get the right one xx

  5. I love when the samples are generous - it really can take a while to decide if you like something or not.
