Event: Umberto Giannini #7days7ways

I know absolutely nothing about hair. I don't do anything with mine, apart from wash it a couple of times a week, blow dry it, then give it a quick straighten. Since I've had it cut short, I've been doing even less with it as there's not really much that I can do. When I was invited along to an event at the Umberto Giannini salon in Selfridges, Birmingham, I jumped at the chance!

I went along to the #7days7ways event on Monday evening where we were greeted with macarons and a glass (or two!) of bubbly. We were then given a presentation on the new campaign by one of the stylists, Claire. The campaign is to showcase Umberto Giannini's 'hero product' which is the famous Backcomb In a Bottle, a product that I'd never used before. It's fronted by model Tali Lennox who helps to show the 7 different hairstyles that you can acheive using this one product.

After the presentation, the stylists kindly demonstrated the different styles on our own hair. My stylist was Sian who was absolutely lovely. First of all, she showed me how to wave my hair using straighteners without taking anything away from the length. Then she used Backcomb In A Bottle by spraying it onto my roots and then giving my hair a quick blow dry while my head was upside down. The result was a gorgeous wavy style full of volume. This made a great change to my usual straight hairstyle and is something that I can definitely replicate myself at home.

What do you think of my new 'do? Have you tried Backcomb In A Bottle before?
